RESULTS OF THE 2002 CONSULTATION

30 August 2002

From Lesley Brooks, Service Group Manager Parking, Lewisham Parking Services.

We have now had the opportunity to carry out an analysis of the results of [the consultation on Controlled Parking in the New Cross area]. The results showed that a clear majority of people were opposed to the proposed controlled parking zone with 543 votes against and 189 for the proposals.  There were also clear majorities against both the proposed days and hours of operation.  A road by road analysis showed that there were no groups of roads wgere a majority of people were in favour of the proposals”.

The detailed analysis showed that for Telegraph Hill itself, out of a total response from 453 residents, 88 were in favour and 365 were against.
